Animated Short Film by Steve Nguyen & Choz Belen

I am really looking forward to the release of the short film “Hibakusha.” And if you just paused to say, “What?” Don’t worry, that’s what the film is for.

But if you’re curious, hibakusha refers to the surviving victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Next year (which is actually not to far away eh?) - August 6, 2011 to be exact - marks the 66th anniversary of the bombings.

The events and their effects everywhere (yes, even in America) are important to remember which is why I decided to back the project. You can be a backer too. You should follow them here.

Not enough people know about the bombings beyond the actual event. What did you learn in your history class? Either way, this is probably something you don’t want to miss. Choz Belen, the guy behind Far East Movement’s “I Party” mv, will be animating the film, and Steve Nguyen (Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift, Jarhead) and Daisuke Suzuki (The Hills, American Dad!) are attached to direct the film.
